- Very easy to sew!
I am a self taught sewer, and I have only been sewing for a few years. I began my sewing journey when my daughter decided she wanted to be a figure skater, picked out a coach, music, and came to me to register her for the competitions. Her coach wanted a "princess" dress. I sewed the Jalie princess dress as my first non pillowcase creation. It worked wonderfully, and I have been hooked ever since. I have tried other pattern companies, and I am just not as happy with the quality of the patterns or the results. When my daughter and her coach decided to perform Mulan this year, I again turned to Jalie. I found this pattern as a PDF. I looked at it for months before actually deciding to purchase it. To my surprise, the PDF pattern was not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. The dress went together very quickly, and although I have one technical sewing error in the dress, the overall result was much better than I expected. The instructions were very easy to follow, and the neckline is very flattering. I plan to make it again, in black as a testing dress.

Easy pattern to put together. Great as a test dress because of the full coverage.
