SEWING / DESIGN

Our patterns include kids and adult sizes (0-24 for most of them), each designed with their own block to ensure a good fit in all sizes.

Yes. Always. The pattern is ready to use.

All our patterns are in both French and English. The two languages are together on the pattern (no need to specify which language you need at checkout).

Instead of labelling the projects based on level, we let you decide whether the instructions / techniques are a good fit for you. On each pattern page, under MORE DETAILS, you will find a link to the pattern instructions. This way you can make up your mind before purchasing the pattern.

Our size range (women) goes from 2T (21'' Bust / 20'' Waist / 22'' Hips) to US36 (63'' Bust / 61'' Waist / 66 1/8'' Hips). You can see the sizes included in the pattern by clicking the "sizing info link" on each pattern page. Over the years, our size range did vary. Make sure you check what is included before buying the pattern.

In adult women sizes, we draft for 1m67 (5'6'').

In adult men size, we draft for 1m78 (5'10'').

In adult women sizes, we draft for a B. The sizes between L (kids age 8) and S gradually have more room for the bust.

PAPER PATTERNS

To purchase paper patterns, select the "Paper" or "Paper + PDF" option from the drop-down menu before adding the pattern to your cart. The paper pattern is shipped to you and therefore, shipping fees will apply.

Our patterns are printed on heavy white paper. This way you can use them for years and they will remain in good shape.

On patterns 3239 and up, the patterns are printed in color. For pattern numbers 3136 and below, they are printed in black and white.

If you do not see a PAPER option on the pattern page, it means we no longer carry the pattern in paper format. If the pattern sold out not long ago, you might be lucky and find it at your favorite Jalie stockist

PDF PATTERNS

To purchase our patterns in PDF format, simply select PDF or Paper+PDF (if you want both version) before adding the items to cart.

You can access your PDFs:
- On the "Thank you" page, after submitting your order
- By clicking the link in the download email confirmation labeled "Your Downloads are Ready" (look in your junk mail folder if you don't see it in your inbox).
- In your Jalie account (make sure you did create / activate your account first).

The files are available for five (5) downloads only, but there is no time limit for the downloads and you can print them as many time as you need once they are saved to your computer. Our PDFs are meant to be printed, not edited. Therefore, they are not edited to be opened in software like Corel Draw.

Most patterns are layered. If you do see "layered PDF" in the pattern properties, it means you can toggle off the sizes you do not need, using the application Adobe Reader.  If the pattern you buy is a scan of an older pattern, that feature will not be available. Click here to see how to print one size at a time.

You can print your PDF pattern at home on US Letter Size or A4 paper. You can also take your file to a copy shop and have the pattern printed on 36'' continuous paper or A0 sheets.

You can have the pattern printed in any copy shop that prints plans for architects, on plotters. If you do not have a small copy shop or a place like Staples to get your wide format pattern printed, you can also use an online service. We put together a list of online printers for you.

A projector file is a document where pattern pieces are laid out and edited so that they are easier to trace / cut if you are using a projector in your sewing room. You can find more information in the Projectors for Sewing Facebook group.

You will receive an email with links to download all the files you need a few seconds after your order is processed.

Each pattern comes with a printing and assembly guide. You can read more on the subject here.
