This pattern proved to be far easier to make than the finished item might suggest and was perfect to develop into a ballroom dress. The only bit to go carefully with is sewing the top of the sleeves to the bodice to ensure they fold under accurately and can be attached to the seam allowance.
Lots of different looks and applications, whether classy, sporty or just fun, as the images of garments made show very clearly.
I'm a new skating mom of a3 year old who wants every dress she sees... need less to say, I'm ecstatic about these patterns because they'll be able to grow with her as she learns to skate. I just finished cutting the pieces out and am so excited, the rest seems like it'll be a piece of cake! I did have almost half of the fabric left over, I'm not sure how that happened but I'll be able to use it on another dress, so no big deal!
So far so good, will update review as soon as I finish dress.
I used the leotard in black Lycra, with sleeves in sheer black for a neo (lyrical) troupe for girls aged 15-17 and they looked fabulous! I added double layer, full circle, calf length skirts in chiffon sewn at the hip line. I also recently made a modern ballet troupe, I removed the sleeves, deepened the armholes and cut the centre front slightly lower. I added skirts from Jalie 2800, cut shorter and wider as I wanted them to sit flat when on. I deleted the hip seam and sewed the skirts directly to the leotard. Really happy with them and very flattering shape on all the girls.
This costume was a very simple and easy one to put together took no time at all, made it in bottle green with gold celtic aplique for a riverdance skate routine and it was an absolute hit.
