ANNE-MARIE Tanks and Dress
The Anne-Marie pattern includes fitted racerback tanks and a dress with built-in bra and an optional pocket at the back. The back pocket is big enough to hold three tennis balls in adult sizes. A unique feature for anyone who wants to be hands-free while on the move.
- View A: Tank fitted throughout
- View B: Tank with peplum hem that gives more ease from the waist down
- View C: A-line dress this hits mid-thigh. It can be made in a casual knit fabric for an everyday dress look with a practical, easy-to-wear built-in bra.
The type of fabric used for the shelf-bra layer will provide more or less compression at the bust.

Facile à suivre, on peut faire les ajustements facilement.
I made the dress as a sun dress. I used a heavy weight Lycra from funkifabrics UK. instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I added bra padding between the dress and the bra shelf. And added 3 inches to the length. The pattern is versatile as you can use the bra shelf pattern to make a crop top. Use the top pattern without the bra shelf and turn under the edges for a gym top and make a matching crop top. Also join the back and racer back pieces to make one piece to do away with the seam.
The written strap instructions were a little difficult to understand but the video made it so much easier. Overall a great pattern and I've made it twice.
I made this pattern in the longer length to take with me on a winter vacation. I used a black knit for the sides, and a black and white print for the centre panels. Given that I'm only 5'4" and a size 16, I made the dress a little wider than suggested as I wanted to have lots of ease. It quickly became my favorite dress on the 6 week long trip. The knit didn't wrinkle, washed up quickly and the fabrics I chose meant it was suitable for the beach or going out to dinner. The directions were really easy to follow and the video on YouTube made the tricky section (attaching the straps) a piece of cake. I don't think I had to do any ripping and re-sewing at all! The design gives you a really professional results in a relatively short time.; my kind of project!
