MARINA Tankini
Save $13.00 CAD
Make a timeless tankini with the MARINA sewing pattern. The V-neck top features a clever built-in shelf bra designed to hold swim cups, offering comfort and light support. The fully lined high-waist briefs sit at the navel for just the right amount of coverage.
Additional instructions for adjustable straps are available here.

The bottoms are very straightforward and fit fine. I wish there was a version with a leg opening that is cut higher, but I was able to do that myself on my second version. The tankini fits well, but I modified the straps. Ideally the straps should be cut all in one pice with the tankini front, but they aren’t. When they are inserted and turned right side out, it makes a large lump and is not attractive. I found a slider and used that as a join between the end of the strap on the top and the bottom strap.
I love this pattern it’s so good and age appropriate. However, I think that for the ladies with larger tummies we need a full lining on all the pattern pieces. Love it and will definitely make more.
I made a wearable toile of Marina in a single layer of circular knit, and am super pleased with the fit and coverage. Straightened the sides of the built in bra for a light weight summer bra. This will make great undergarments. Next up, following pattern instructions for traditional swimwear! Or maybe a cotton Lycra summer top for me.
Also added a gusset and made cotton Lycra undies for my grand daughter. Love the size range of Jalie patterns.
