This is a very simple swimsuit, but the result is beautiful. Easy and quick, I know I will be making lots of these for my 3 granddaughters! One caveat though...this is an older pattern, and its sizes do not line up with the newer ones. For example, I make size 4 and 6 leotards and leggings for my 3- and 5- year old grandaughters, so I went ahead with H and J as usual. Afterwards, I noticed that the measurements are not the same for H and J as for the more recent leotards (and swimsuits, for that matter). So the H was way too small and the 3 year old ended up with the J. I had made an L for a 7 year old and ended up giving it to the 5 year old. Now I need to make an N for the 7 year old. So check the measurements before you cut and sew if you are used to making certain Jalie sizes. Once you have the right size though, you will be all set!
I love this pattern. It is my go to pattern for all synchronised swimming costumes. The fit is always perfect and looks fabulous on every girl.
