A pleasure to make

I found this a pleasure to make because it’s so simple to follow the pattern & instructions.
I made the raglan top with a plain body & patterned sleeves & neck so it look really effective. I made leggings to match the sleeves so it looks really funky together.
Surprised at how quickly an amateur stitcher like me with no actual training to sew (did a bit a school but mostly learned from experience!) yet this was easy & pleasurable to make.

A true staple

I can't even count how many times I have made this pattern. It fits great from toddler to adult sizes. This is the top I use for my annual "pajama factory" for nieces, my daughters and myself. I also have several in my day wardrobe. I love the different necklines.

Simple, satisfying results, endless options

I don't sew that much, but I just counted and I've made this pattern 15 times! Less than $1 a shirt, and getting cheaper each month. Pajama tops, stretch fleece tops, even a furry cheetah print hoody that my daughter could wear on its own or as part of a costume. I've made it for my skinny kid, my skinny 75-year-old mom, me, and my curvy best friend. I've added stripes, pockets, contrast hems, and have plans for a neck zipper. My only fit issues were that the sleeves were a bit tight and short (easily fixed) and I added darts to the adult hood to make it fit more snugly (child size hood perfect). Otherwise, the pattern sizing works great in a lot of different fabrics. My favorite is furry fleece with a kangaroo pocket - good for 10 months of the year in Alaska!

Perfect

I’ve made this pattern 3 times now and it was perfect every time. The fit was very good on my daughters and me. I have other raglan patterns but the fit over the shoulders is much better with Jalie.

Compared with the other Jalie raglan, this has a more active fit with a higher neckline and long sleeves, so for us, this is a pattern I’ll use more. It also fits my slim children better. I’ll keep making the tunic version of the other for myself, to go with leggings.

The pattern was very easy to use and the main challenge is the curved hem. It’s worth it though as the shape is so pretty. It would be nice to have a straight or banded hem option to save some time when making pyjamas, but this can be improvised.
