I was looking for something to use up my soft-shell remnants and found this pattern while searching on the Facebook group. Just perfect for my scraps with the pieced bodice.

I love the slim fit and it reminds me so much of an old north face jacket that I owned. The instructions were succinct and easy to follow. The result was per the cover. I omitted the front pocket and added a zipper guard and wind guard for my version. The "client" is very happy with her new jacket! Definitely a keeper!

It is a nice design. I have a few suggestions to make it better; it is important to put fusible interfacing in the areas of the pockets, collar and long zipper. I have sewed other fleece jackets and especially fleece which is so stretchy, this interfacing is needed. I would ideally like a pattern that does not need me to cut and size the zipper.

I am really glad that Jalie published this fleece jacket pattern. I had been looking for a pattern like this for quite a while. Jalies seizing is perfect and the jacket fits nicely.
Some changes I made: Instead of a simple hem, I added an elastic draw cord and cord locks to the bottom hem.

I am already sewing a second SAM jacket. This time I will add zippers to the lower pockets.
