I made the sleeveless blouse version. It was an interesting construction technique, but easy to follow. I was between sizes and chose the larger one which was a good decision. I also have a long torso from bra line to top of shoulder and it was a pinch too short with the front seam not properly positioned below my bustline, so I will need to lengthen the front and back top pieces to get a better fit next time. I will definitely make it again! That is what I got. I measured another long sleeve pullover top I already liked to get a sense of what size to make for what I wanted. I chose a four sizes larger. I made sure to pick a zipper that resembled what I see in RTW fleece type jackets to avoid a homemade look. I love how it hugs my short neck in the back and yet doesn’t get in the way at front. I also appreciate that ribbing is not needed anywhere in this pattern. This makes a good hoodie alternative. I wish I would have added a kangaroo pocket or side seam pockets. I like the double layers on the front—so warm. My one small gripe is that there was no instruction for using a larger size when sewing thicker fabrics. It wasn’t a problem for me, but could be for others. Fit / Sizing Accuracy Pattern Drafting Overall Satisfaction Clear Instructions Review by RockyD / (Posted on 8/28/2018) Jalie does it again! I am so happy to have discovered Jalie patterns. Every time I used the traditional ones, I was disappointed and actually stopped making clothes for years. But Jalie fits me perfectly. What a treat! My fabric store was very generous and gave me more fabric than required so I was able to add 3/4 sleeves (which I took from another Jalie pattern and they fit the armhole perfectly). I did not have enough for the included long sleeves and just shortening them would have given me sleeves that were too wide for 3/4. I found the pattern itself a bit confusing. The layout diagram was only for View A (and I was making B) so I had to really think to figure out what I needed. Neither B nor E appeared on the layout diagrams. I also like to read instructions before starting and I had a heck of a time understanding the front bodice. I googled it and someone had done a review about how you sew it, then turn it inside out and it magically creates a lined bodice ... So I stopped trying to understand it and just did it. Yup, magic! In fact, it is a very simple pattern and quick to make. Bravo Jalie! The construction is simple but the design is creative and very flattering. Fit is true to measurements. I will be making several of these. I also like the idea one reviewer had of turning it into a dress. It would be very simple to modify. I highly recommend. I've admired other versions of this top for several years and finally made my version as a Little White Dress. Sew the bodice per the pattern, use the top few inches of the bottom bodice front & back to create a band , then add a basic skirt shape to that. I have made this top in almost every type of knit fabric- fleece, sweater knit, ITY, cotton/lycra, even stretch lace! You may need to size up or down depending on the thickness of the knit. I have made this top for both women and children and I have had nothing but compliments. It fits well, is drafted perfectly and can be dressed up or down. What more could you ask for? It is quick and easy to make and very comfortable to wear. The collar on it is so pretty the way it stands up some in the back. Well, the entire shirt is very feminine, flattering, and comfortable. You just can't ask for more than that! Overall Satisfaction Review by kathigarn / (Posted on 11/25/2009) You have used this pattern? Share you thoughts with other customers.
