this is a cute top, the directions aren't the best though. I have been sewing for many many years and I struggled with the directions on this. Luckily I am really good at putting puzzles together and finally figured out what to do. I do plan on making adjustments to this to make it easier to me to create my next golf tops!
Very quick and easy pattern. Sits well and looks great. Shortened the sleeves and overall length. I use for golf and it is comfortable to play in. Will be making more. Thank you.
I just love the fit and feel of this top. With easy modifications I have a garment that fits me perfectly. I finished the hem and arm holes with bias tape. I have adapted the pattern to a dress and will post the result. I would recommend Jalie and all their patterns
I made the sleeveless blouse version. It was an interesting construction technique, but easy to follow. I was between sizes and chose the larger one which was a good decision. I also have a long torso from bra line to top of shoulder and it was a pinch too short with the front seam not properly positioned below my bustline, so I will need to lengthen the front and back top pieces to get a better fit next time. I will definitely make it again!
I wanted to make a cozy pullover to wear at home for fall and winter. That is what I got. I measured another long sleeve pullover top I already liked to get a sense of what size to make for what I wanted. I chose a four sizes larger. I made sure to pick a zipper that resembled what I see in RTW fleece type jackets to avoid a homemade look.
I love how it hugs my short neck in the back and yet doesn’t get in the way at front. I also appreciate that ribbing is not needed anywhere in this pattern. This makes a good hoodie alternative. I wish I would have added a kangaroo pocket or side seam pockets. I like the double layers on the front—so warm. My one small gripe is that there was no instruction for using a larger size when sewing thicker fabrics. It wasn’t a problem for me, but could be for others.
