Just working on this. Knits are not always easy but the pattern is well written and such a good basic that I’m likely to make it in a few different colors for me. Love the multiple sizes so I can make for other family members. Would recommend buying from this company
Love the design, great freedom of movement and I used all the sections to do some colour blocking. Made it with some wicking fabric as a cycling jersey for my husband.
On the downside the collar instructions were confusing even for an old hand at sewing like me.
The pattern drafting is excellent. I rated this a 4 out of 5 because of the scant sewing instructions. A new sewer would likely not be able to manage this pattern without additional assistance.
I used a couple pieces of French Terry from my stash.
I called this shirt the Afghanistan shirt because I made it out of polartec alpha insulation ( from Discovery Fabrics), the fabric designed for soldiers in Afghanistan to be warm and very light weight. The texture of the material makes the beautiful design lines of the shirt not as visible. I love the lines of the shirt and especially how the sleeves are constructed. I was able to make an adjustment on the yoke/sleeves for a rounded back and it worked perfectly. I should have measured the length before I sewed it up, and that’s why I added a binding at the hemline..it was a little short for my husband. He loves the shirt and I will be making him another.
Great fit!!!
