Wide leg pants are in!

My granddaughter requested wide leg pants. She wanted some for drapey woven fabric. Simone was just the pattern we needed. It’s fast and easy, but still has some nice design elements. Another winner from Jalie!

Flattering Fit

These shorts are so comfortable and very flattering. I made them in a tencel-like fabric, in linen, and in lightweight cotton twill. The ties really add style, even though I also love the linen ones where I omitted the ties. I did add two inches to the length as I like my shorts a bit longer. Fantastic pattern!

My Ultimate Summer Shorts

I LOVE the shorts and the drafting. The instructions were clear and easy to comprehend. The only shortcoming is the lack of finishing on raw hems. An easy omission that you may need to rectify if you are used to having reminders on patterns from other companies.
I made a pair out of linen with my usual fit adjustment of lengthening the crotch by 1/2 inch and lengthening the shorts length. This is after doing some extensive research online on sewists who have made the shorts previously. The shorts were quite quick and easy to assemble and sew up. I had to do some last minute binding of my raw edges as I realised that the pattern did not mention about finishing off the edges and i was already 80% done with the shorts. Thankfully, I have not put on the waistband etc when i realised it. Nevertheless, I would still recommend the pattern for fit, drafting and assembly aside from the finishing of raw edges. The bow tie was a cute touch and despite the shorts having an elastic back, the shorts did not add bulk. Definitely a go to for more summer shorts - I might try one without the ties and waist loops in my next attempt.
