Nice dress.

I whipped up a minions skating costume for my daughter using stretch Polartec fabric in a couple of afternoons. It went together really easy and fits well. She's happy, warm and very, very cute in it.

I have made the Jalie dress with the large keyhole back previously which has the same neck closing so was able to breeze through the otherwise slightly confusing instructions for the neck. There are quite a few pattern pieces but its all very logical to assemble otherwise.

I did find that the hook and eyes did keep coming open on the neck as the fabric was very stretchy and there was some growing room in the dress. I switched them for some buttons and loops which worked much better and are even more minion-like.
Oh, the hook and eyes weren't listed on the notions, so an extra trip to the shops ensued.

Adapted Dorothy Pattern for Firefighter Costume

This turned out super cute and wasn't too hard to sew. The girls loved the circle skirt. My only 2 complaints: First, the instructions on how to sew the collar and the back of the neckline where the dress fastens were unclear to me. Second, I had a hard time getting the straps to fit nicely. I made six of these dresses and ended up adjusting the length of the straps individually for each girl and attaching them with buttons and buttonholes. We still ended up pinning them on to make them stay in place. On the first dress I sewed them as instructed but they did not fit properly at all, not sure where I went wrong.

I used red, black and neon yellow fabric with silver accents to make this pattern into a firefighter costume.

Beautiful Dresses

I made both view A and view B. I tried the neckband both ways, right side to wrong side as Trekkie suggested and wrong side to right side as pattern stated. Wrong side to right side worked fine and looked better. Some of the directions were a little confusing but once I read them a few times I had no problem. Looking forward to the skating competition next week.

Big Hit!

My daughter's dress is complimented wherever we go. The only difficulty I had with it was the keyhole opening in the back.; the directions did not make sense, but I winged it successfully.

Misprint

There is a misprint for the back neckband. Pattern says to pin to wrong side, but must pin to right side. It was too late before I realized. When I did finish the dress it fit my daughter beautifully.
