Excellent Pattern - Excellent Results!
Made this as a custom request - It turned out lovely! The pattern explanations for the front skirt were a bit confusing; looking at it flat doesn't show how it behaves on the body. I went through several versions of tearing out and adjusting that I probably would not have had to make. I did lengthen the front skirt a bit, and (like another reviewer) I also tea-stained the elastic so it would blend into the netting better.

Gorgeous looking, and great fit.
I haven't made many articles from patterns, and this was my first time working with 4 way stretch lycra. I did get a little confused about the pleats on the front dress, but just follow the instructions and it'll be fine (I was trying to sew all the edges as pleats!) This dress fits very well - I adjusted for the torso height as Jalie says, and had no problems. Very, very pleased with this - my daughter loves it, and it is such a pretty dress. I'm making another now for my daughters friend, so can;t be too daunting, and I'm so impressed with Jalie that my next project will be the fleece top #2679.

Absolutely gorgeous
This was the very first time I was sewing a skating dress. After reviewing different patterns from different company, I selected this one. The instructions are well explained and illustrated. The dress turned absolutely gorgeous and it made my daughter so happy. I would suggest though to do the front panel of the skirt a bit longer as I think it would look better, both when standing straight and when spinning.

Perfect even for beginners
My daughter skates and I wanted get her a nice ice skating dress. I was unable to find one I liked, so I purchased this pattern. I can barely sew a straight line and I was able to make her the dress in less than a week. Wonderful! I do have some fitting issues, but I am confident that those are my errors.

Another winner!
I made this dress with stretch black velvet that had green glittery swirls on it. It was for a Celtic them so I modified the skirt. I thought the sizing was a tad large compared to other Jalie patterns. It was an easy dress to make. TIP! Tea stain the white elastic for the neckband to match the netting (one bag of black tea and one bag of a berry flavored herbal tea. Let it sit until desired color is reached, then "set" the color by placing it in vinegar.) Review by Beth / (Posted on 5/6/2012)
Easy to piect together
I have sewn many skating dresses over the years and this particular pattern was very easy to piece together. The finished product was so pretty on the ice.

Perfect pattern for a Tinkerbelle
I have used this pattern at least 3 times in different sizes and just love how easy it comes together. The last one was in a velvet lime green for Tinkerbelle in our spring ice show.

Simply Lovely
This was the very first skate dress I ever made. I was so nervous but couldn't pay retail for what I wanted. Thank goodness for Jalie! The dress turned out beautifully (photo is the one by Julie Lane). I was surprised by how easy the pattern was for something that looks very complicated. I attribute this to the marvelous instructions.

So lovely!

Excellent
This is an excellent pattern designed by an excellent company. This was my first attempt at making a fancy dress and it turned out perfectly. My daughter loved it and I had several requests from other parents at our club.

Gorgeous!
This skating dress was easy to make and looks gorgeous on the ice! My daughter felt (and looked) like a million bucks. I would highly recommend this pattern to anyone!

My only issue with this pattern was the panty -- it was a bit skimpy for my taste. I prefer a lot more coverage here, but that was easily resolved by making the panty larger.

Overall, very easy to make! Another great find from Jalie!

Great fit the first time!
This is the first skating dress that I have made. I was making it for a friend and the pattern worked really well. I did have some hard times with it but that is just due to my skill level. I know the next one will go together fast. I know my friend was very happy with the practice dress that I made.
Thank you for having some great skating dress patterns.

Looks Beautiful on Ice
There are so many professional sewing centres that are copying this dress and selling them for over $150, so when I was able to make it for under $25, I was very happy and my daughter loved it. She got many comments on how nice she looked on the ice. The directions were clear and it was easier to make than I thought it would be. The most tedious part was tracing and cutting out the pattern. It was well worth the while.

Easier than it looks!
I am not an experienced sewer of clothing but this pattern was so easy to follow, it made me look like a pro. It's far less complicated than the finished dress appears. Sizing was very accurate also. Gorgeous outcome!
